How to download your USAA statement as a PDF
On usaa.com
- Log in to usaa.com and open My Documents.
- The list shows the last 18 months by default. To go further back, open Filter and extend the delivery date range.
- Open the statement you want.
- Use the Menu icon on the opened document to print or download it.
In the mobile app
- Open My Documents in the USAA mobile app.
- Use Filter to change the sort order or extend the date range.
- Open the statement, then download or print it.
USAA does not publish a fixed retention period. Their own FAQ says document availability "varies for each document" and advises saving important ones for your records — so treat anything you might need later as something to download now rather than assume it will still be there.
How we check a USAA statement is right
We reconcile the extracted transactions against the balances printed on the statement itself: the rows have to account for the full movement from the opening figure to the closing one. Where the statement carries a running balance beside each row, we use the stronger check and verify every adjacent pair. An anchor only counts if it appears in the PDF, so the extractor cannot verify itself against a number it invented, and a file whose arithmetic does not close is flagged rather than quietly handed to you.
We make no claim about the internal layout of a USAA statement. USAA publishes no sample and no guide to reading one, and the pages online that claim to describe the format are statement-generator sites rather than USAA. Your actual file decides which check applies. USAA is not one of our per-bank verified parsers, so we quote no accuracy percentage for it.
Things worth knowing
- My Documents shows 18 months by default. That is a filter setting, not the limit — extend the delivery date range to see older statements.
- Expired documents can sometimes be retrieved by USAA, but their FAQ says this may carry a fee and requires calling them. Downloading a statement is free; recovering one later may not be.
- If paperless delivery was never switched on for an account, there may be no PDF online to download at all. That toggle lives under Manage Paperless on the My Documents page.
