U.S. Bank keeps up to 7 years of statements in digital banking, on both web and mobile — so a full prior year is normally still there at tax time.
How we check a U.S. Bank statement is right
Whichever U.S. Bank document you upload, we check the extracted rows against the figures printed on that same document — the opening and closing balances, and any section totals it carries. Nothing is checked against a figure we inferred: an anchor has to appear in the PDF to be used as one, so the extractor cannot bless its own output. Where a statement prints a running balance per row, every adjacent pair is checked instead, which is the strongest form of the test. A file whose arithmetic does not close is flagged rather than quietly handed to you.
U.S. Bank is not one of our per-bank verified parsers, so we do not quote an accuracy percentage for it. The reconciliation result for your specific file is shown on screen before you download.
Things worth knowing
- There are two different exports on usbank.com and they are not interchangeable. "Download transaction history" gives CSV, QFX or QBO covering only the last 18 months, and is not available in the mobile app. The PDF statements under Accounts go back up to 7 years and are on mobile. Convert the statement PDF — it is the document that carries the totals we reconcile against.
- Statements can include images of cleared cheques. Those are pictures, not transaction rows, and are ignored.
