What an SEB kontoutdrag looks like inside
- Dates are ISO — YYYY-MM-DD. Most non-Nordic statements use DD/MM or MM/DD, so a converter tuned for those misreads Swedish dates.
- Amounts use a space as the thousands separator and a comma as the decimal: 1 234,56. Read with Anglo assumptions, that parses as the wrong number entirely.
- Like other Swedish statements, fields can run together when the PDF text is extracted, so splitting a row back into date, text and amount is the actual work.
- Our SEB reader pulls the date, the text and the amount. It does not rely on a running balance column, which is why the check below foots against the statement's own totals instead.
How we check an SEB statement is right
The strongest possible check is row-by-row against a running balance, and where a statement carries one we use it. Our SEB reader does not depend on that: it foots the extracted transactions against the opening and closing figures the statement prints, so the rows have to account for the whole movement across the period. If the dedicated reader's result does not reconcile, we do not ship it. The statement is re-read by the AI extractor, and whichever result actually foots against the printed figures is the one you get — if neither does, the file is flagged rather than quietly handed to you.
SEB is not one of our per-bank verified parsers — Handelsbanken is the only bank we publish a figure for — so we quote no accuracy percentage here. The reconciliation result for your specific file is shown on screen before you download.
Things worth knowing
- Export the statement as a PDF from Internetbanken rather than copying the on-screen transaction list. The PDF carries the printed totals we reconcile against; a copied list does not.
- Fortnox cannot read a converted CSV through its bank-file import — that path rejects every format a converter can produce. Posting reconciled rows as vouchers through the Fortnox API does work, and is on Pro.
