  2. Select "Statements & transactions" from the main menu.
  3. Under Your statements, select Statements.
  4. Choose the account and the statement cycle you want.
  5. Select it — the PDF downloads according to your browser settings.

In the mobile app

  1. Log in to the NatWest mobile app and select the account.
  2. Tap the three-dot icon at the top and choose Statements.
  3. Select the statement you want.

Statements go back up to 7 years in both Online Banking and the app. Anything older has to be requested from NatWest directly.

How we check a NatWest statement is right

A NatWest statement PDF carries printed balances; the OFX and CSV exports generally do not. That is the practical difference between them, and the reason we ask for the statement: the extracted rows must bridge the opening balance to the closing one, and without printed figures there is nothing to check against. Where a running balance appears beside each row, every adjacent pair is verified instead. A file whose arithmetic does not close is flagged rather than quietly handed to you.

We do not state whether your NatWest statement carries a per-row running balance. NatWest publishes no sample statement, and the one source claiming to know contradicted itself. Your file decides which check applies, and the result is shown before you download. NatWest is not one of our per-bank verified parsers, so we quote no accuracy percentage for it.

Things worth knowing

  • NatWest has a separate "Download transactions" feature that exports OFX or CSV directly — it is not the same thing as the Statements section. If that export covers what you need, you may not need a converter at all. We would rather say so than have you convert a PDF for no reason.
  • The two are not interchangeable, though: a statement PDF carries the printed opening and closing balances we reconcile against, and a transactions export generally does not. Convert the statement when you need the figures to be checkable.
  • Old natwest.com support links are widely shared but now redirect to a generic page — their support site was restructured, so third-party guides pointing at those URLs are stale.

NatWest Conversion FAQ

Is the NatWest statement converter free?+

Yes. You can convert NatWest PDF statements to Excel or CSV for free — no signup or credit card required to start. Higher daily volumes are available on a paid plan.

How accurate is the NatWest to Excel conversion?+

Every conversion is checked against the statement's own balances (our reconciliation gate) and shown to you in a preview before you download, so you can confirm the NatWest numbers are right. A conversion that doesn't fully reconcile is flagged for review.

What formats can I export my NatWest statement to?+

Excel (.xlsx), CSV, a Fortnox-style CSV (for manual bookkeeping), and JSON. You can also choose newest-first or oldest-first ordering to match what your accounting software expects on import.

Is it safe to upload my NatWest bank statement?+

Yes. Files are encrypted in transit, processed in the EU, and deleted within 24 hours — we never permanently store your transactions. The service is GDPR compliant and built in Sweden.

Do I need to install any software to convert NatWest statements?+

No. The converter runs entirely in your browser — upload the NatWest PDF, preview the extracted transactions, and download your spreadsheet. Nothing to install.
