How to save your Barclays statement as a PDF

In Online Banking

  1. Log in to Barclays Online Banking.
  2. Select Manage accounts, then Statements and documents.
  3. Open the statement you want.
  4. Save it using your browser — the PDF icon in the toolbar, or File then Print/Save as PDF.

Statements stay available for up to 7 years while the account is open. If you close the account but still bank with Barclays, they remain for up to 5 years.

How we check a Barclays statement is right

A Barclays statement is saved through your browser rather than downloaded as a prepared file, which means the PDF you end up with can vary with the device that made it. That is exactly why the check matters: rather than trusting the layout, we verify the numbers against the balances the statement itself prints, so the extracted rows must bridge the opening figure to the closing one. Where a running balance appears beside each row, every adjacent pair is checked instead. A file whose arithmetic does not close is flagged rather than quietly handed to you.

We do not state whether your Barclays statement carries a per-row running balance, because Barclays publishes no sample statement and we could not confirm it from any source we trust. Your file decides which check applies, and the result is shown before you download. Barclays is not one of our per-bank verified parsers, so we quote no accuracy percentage for it.

Things worth knowing

  • There is no dedicated "Download PDF" button. Barclays' own instructions are to save or print the displayed statement through your browser, so what you get is a browser-generated PDF.
  • Because of that, saving from a mobile browser can produce a different file than saving from a desktop one. If a conversion looks wrong, try saving it again on a computer.
  • Barclays' own help pages give two different routes to statements in the app. If one does not match what you see, try the other.

Barclays Conversion FAQ

Is the Barclays statement converter free?+

Yes. You can convert Barclays PDF statements to Excel or CSV for free — no signup or credit card required to start. Higher daily volumes are available on a paid plan.

How accurate is the Barclays to Excel conversion?+

Every conversion is checked against the statement's own balances (our reconciliation gate) and shown to you in a preview before you download, so you can confirm the Barclays numbers are right. A conversion that doesn't fully reconcile is flagged for review.

What formats can I export my Barclays statement to?+

Excel (.xlsx), CSV, a Fortnox-style CSV (for manual bookkeeping), and JSON. You can also choose newest-first or oldest-first ordering to match what your accounting software expects on import.

Is it safe to upload my Barclays bank statement?+

Yes. Files are encrypted in transit, processed in the EU, and deleted within 24 hours — we never permanently store your transactions. The service is GDPR compliant and built in Sweden.

Do I need to install any software to convert Barclays statements?+

No. The converter runs entirely in your browser — upload the Barclays PDF, preview the extracted transactions, and download your spreadsheet. Nothing to install.
